Drug Injections

Did you know that your pharmacist can inject medications other than just vaccines? Vaccination authority was granted to pharmacists in 2009, but since the end of 2022 they’ve also been authorized to use their expertise to inject medications like Vitamin B12, Prolia, and others. You do need a prescription from your doctor (even for non-prescription medications), and some things do not qualify (some examples being insulin and Ozempic), but the injections can be done in the pharmacy at your convenience rather than booking a doctor’s appointment.

Appointments can be made just like with vaccinations by calling 250-477-6112. If this service sounds convenient but you are not sure about the details, we’re happy to answer any questions you may have. The government is billed for the service so there are no extra out of pocket costs to you.
