Prescription Services
Filling Prescriptions
- We regularly assess your medicines for compatibility and cross-check for allergies
- Our team is very focused on prevention, and will let you know if your medicines put you at risk for a vitamin or mineral deficiency
- We are an excellent resource for up-to-date health related information
- And of course, we fill prescriptions too!
Initiating Prescriptions
- Our pharmacists can assess, authorize, and write prescriptions for certain conditions*
- We can assess and prescribe for regular and emergency contraception*
- Smoking cessation therapy can be started upon discussion with our pharmacy team (often covered through BC Health)
- Additional training allows our pharmacists to assess for travel related vaccinations, antimalarials, and travellers’ diarrhea prevention and treatment; as well, we can write for all travel related vaccinations, as well as routine vaccinations*
Changing Prescriptions
- We can renew and extend prescriptions so that you are not going without medication*
- We are trained to and can amend prescriptions when it is in your best interests to do so (ex. change in dosage form or frequency, splitting tablets, advising of generics, offering lower cost alternatives where appropriate) and communicate with your prescriber any changes*
- During drug shortages, we will seek out other suppliers and exhaust all resources to make sure you do not go without your medicine and we will work with your practitioner to provide options for therapy should they be required
Administration of Vaccines and Medicines
- Our pharmacists can administer all travel related vaccinations (including yellow fever), as well as all age-indicated routine vaccinations (including HPV, and measles)*
- We are now authorized to administer injectable drugs (such as Prolia, Vitamin B12, Depo-Provera, and antipsychotics)*
- We regularly participate in mass vaccination clinics in-store and off-site (let us know if you have a group of 12 or more, and we can arrange to come to you for your vaccinations)
Making Your Life Easier
- We offer after hours and weekend emergency availability
- We can provide you with a detailed list of your medications and what they are used for – for you own information, to keep with you, or to share with healthcare providers before surgeries or appointments

- For those who need some assistance with their medicine, we can offer our Accu-pak Medicine Compliance Packaging System and track adherence
- We can help assess medication costs to work with you to lower your drug costs, making sure you are fully utilizing your eligible benefits through the government, your insurer, and drug company programs ( ex. high cost medicines such as Prolia, Xgeva, Humira, NovoRapid, Humalog, Lantus, etc) and other checks for your entire drug profile
